Nina McClelland

Dr. Nina McClelland is the principal of Nina I. McClelland, LLC, and a globally-recognized expert in standardization and health and environmental management. She has served in many capacities through the years within the American Chemical Society, including as chairman of the Board. Nina served as president and chief executive officer of the National Sanitation Foundation, a private, third-party provider respected worldwide for consensus standards and certification of products and services related to public health and environment, including drinking water additives. She holds a PhD in environmental chemistry from the University of Michigan, has served two terms as a member of the USEPA Drinking water Advisory Council, chaired the ad hoc committee on toxicology for ISO TC 138, and presented the paper on water resources at the UN Ten Year Water Conference in 1987 (Interregional Symposium on Improved Efficiency in the Management of Water Resources). Dr. McClelland has served on various council and committees of the National Academy of Sciences. She has participated in bilateral negotiations with private and public sector representatives from Russia, Canada and Mexico and countries across Europe. She has been a member of the ANSI Board of Directors and has been active in many of governance and policy activities.
