The Division of Environmental Chemistry has many members that serve in a technician position within the field of environmental chemistry. Many times the employers will send those in administrative positions to meetings so that they remain current. However, those in technician positions lack the resources to go and thus remain current (and marketable) in the field. With the market becoming ever increasingly tighter, it is important that our members stay current with new technologies and regulations. The grant will be used to offset registration and/or travel for Division members who are going to a meeting or workshop for the purpose of either learning a new aspect/technique in their field, to update their skill in a particular technique or to remain current in their field.
This is a pilot year for 2 years commencing with July 1, 2009 and ending July 1, 2011.
